Biblical Foundations for Children, Volume I is a collection of teachings that have been proven and taught as a foundational curriculum for the parents and children who attend the Children’s Equipping Center at the International House of Prayer of Kansas City. This teaching curriculum will give children, parents, and teachers a greater knowledge and understanding of the foundational truths children should learn, enjoy, and understand, while growing in a personal relationship with the Lord. These teachings have been birthed out of a deep desire to see all children receive a solid biblical foundation and knowledge of the Word of God. Each lesson gives parents and teachers simple teaching "templates" that will assist them in communicating the Scriptures with confidence and passion. Our heart is that through these teachings children will develop an unquenchable thirst to study, learn, and apply the Scriptures all their days.

Through this curriculum series, children will learn the unfolding, overarching story of the Bible. Each book of the Bible is studied chronologically and is introduced within its historical and theological background. Students progress through each book, learning the major stories while discovering biblical truths applicable to their lives. The Books of Moses develops the central theme that God is a Father who desires a family. In Volume I, students will see the beginnings of that family, from creation and Adam, to God’s choice of Adam to God’s choice of Abraham and his special family, to the preservation and growth of that family through Moses and the Exodus. A timeline and map studies help children place the people of the Bible in time and space. Additionally, students are taught how to use Bible study tools such as a concordance.
